Ephemicropolis 2010

10 Things why this artwork is realistic

1. Recognizable as a human
2. The play of shadows and highlights are present
3. The highlights are on the forehead cheekbones, the nose bridge and chin forming the protruding quality which is a semblance of general faces
4. The shadows gives depth and concertizes the third dimension of the sketchy portrait
5. The shadows also give definition to the line under the cheekbones, outlines the browbone
6. The range of shades and tints rendered gives the realistic appearance
7. Details like the strands of hair are depicted by thiner strokes
8. Proportion of the face is naturalistic
9. Texture is given to the lips by the patchy reflected light on it
10. Downcast face is not awkward looking(eyes, nose, mouth, cheekbones rendered in the same angle)
